Local Sanatan Dharma Sabhas were already existing in different cities and towns of various states since long. It was only in 1921 that with motivation of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya ji and Pandit Deen Dayalu Upadhya ji , Sanatan Dharma Pratinidhi Sabha Panjab was established at Lahore under Presidentship of Rai Bahadur Lala Ram Sharan Dass ji to bring all the sanatanists working in these sabhas for spreading the cause of Vedic Sanskriti, . Around seven schools were also opened along with. But unfortunately the sabha did not pick up momentum in the next two years. It was during a historical sammellan of Sanatan Dharma Prathinidhi Sabha Panjab at Sargodha in 1923, that on call from Pandit Deen Dayalu Upadhya ji, Goswami Ganesh Dutt ji offered his services for the cause of Santan Dharma. Young Goswami Ganesh Dutt ji was appointed as General Secretary of Sanatan Dharma Prathinidhi Sabha. It was in 1927 Maha khubh at Haridwar, that on request of Goswami ji, Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya ji accepted him as Mantradixit discipile and took pledge from him to serve the society selflessely and not to spend a single penny of donation on himself. Goswami ji kept his world all throughout his life and served the sabha with full devotion and dedication. After forming Sanatan Dharam Pracharni Sabha, Goswami ji established Hindi Ratri Pathsala. In a span of few years hundreds of Sanatan Dharma institutes, Rishikuls, sanatan dharma mandirs and Sabhas were established. The Head office of Shri Sanatan Dharma Education Board (Regd) and Shri Sanatan Dharma Mahabir Dal Panjab is at Goswami Ganesh Dutt Bhawan Sector 19 A, Chandigarh The working area of Shri Sanatan Dharma Pratinidhi Sabha(Panjab) New Delhi, Shri Sanatan Dharma Education Board (Regd) and Shri Sanatan Dharma Mahabir Dal Panjab is spread over in seven northern States i.e. Panjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh. Rajasthan, Uttra Pradesh, Utrakhand, Jammu Kashmir and two Union Teritories of Delhi and Chandigarh. At the moment 120 Sabhas, 75 educational institutions and 100 units of Mahabir dal are affiliated with Shri Sanatan Dharma Pratinidhi Sabha.
